This is an audio learning activity that features a discussion of the definition, management, and treatment of septic shock, the major cause of distributive shock with attention to the Sepsis 3 Guidelines.

Purpose of Activity

To provide information for nurse practitioners on using the Sepsis 3 guidelines to identify, manage and treat distributive shock.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Recognize distributive shock and the goals of the Surviving Sepsis and the Sepsis-3 campaigns.
  2. Select the appropriate interventions for septic shock.
