Purpose of Activity
This learning activity will engage nurse practitioners and other health professionals in a clinically-focused case study to develop skills in identification and management of distributive shock.Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:
- Apply an evidence-based approach to screen and diagnose a patient suspected of distributive shock.
- Identify the appropriate treatment plan for the complex patient with infection and hypotension.
- Evaluate the patient response to treatment and the need for additional diagnostic and vasopressor support when a patient does not respond adequately to standard therapies.
