Purpose of Activity
To provide information on current issues affecting pain management.Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:
- Identify issues related to assessing and managing acute pain in accordance with evidence-based guidelines in order to minimize the likelihood of its becoming chronic.
- Examine the benefits and risks of various multimodal analgesic therapies used in the treatment of acute postoperative and trauma-related pain.
- Select evidence-based practices for preventing or minimizing, detecting, and managing unintended sedation and respiratory depression in adult hospitalized patients receiving opioids.
