Purpose of Activity

To provide information about the early identification of sepsis and the appropriate interventions to help patients survive sepsis.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify diagnostic and assessment criteria for sepsis based on the most recent practice guidelines.
  2. Select appropriate pharmaceutical treatments for managing patients based on severity and responsiveness to distributive shock resuscitation and vasopressor therapies.
  3. Identify an evidence-based plan for patient evaluation and monitoring to achieve the best outcomes for patients with distributive shock.
