When your rear tire blows out at 70 miles per hour, you don't get to choose if you're going to pull over -- it's all about survival.  Using this real-life example, this session will explore how we can all more effectively deal with life's unexpected circumstances.  Whether a blown tire, someone mistreating you, being the target of gossip, an unfair workload, or receiving a difficult diagnosis, things happen outside of our control on a regular basis in life. 

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Learn the 4 key steps of effectively managing "out of our control." (OOOC) experiences and increasing the participant's level of resilience.
  2. Develop individualized strategies for current or past OOOC experiences.
  3. Apply the principles of mental strength training to improve their ability to respond in a positive manner no matter the complexity or difficulty of the presenting circumstances.
