To present a quality improvement (QI) project seeking to analyze radiation exposure in the pediatric trauma population aged 5 years and older in relation to cervical spine clearance.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Summarize the need to decrease radiation exposure during cervical spine clearance in pediatric trauma patients.
  2. Specify the methodology and results of the QI project that sought to analyze exposure to pediatric trauma patients with low risk of cervical spine injuries (CSIs) and the system changes that resulted.
